Edilma Chavez is a second generation coffee farmer. She and her husband managed the farm together until he left to become a migrant laborer to help the family get ahead. Edilma inherited El Chalun 20 years ago from her parents. It is named for the nearby location called Chalun, which is also the name of a shade tree that many coffee farmers use in this region.
